Voters in Lynnwood and Fire District 1 approved the creation and funding of the South Snohomish County Fire & Rescue Regional Fire Authority (RFA) in August 2017.

South Snohomish County Fire & Rescue began providing emergency services to the City of Lynnwood and Fire District 1 on Oct. 1, 2017.

Fire District 1 Continues

The RFA has replaced the Fire District as a service provider. The Fire District continues to exist so that the District’s EMS levy can be collected and revenues transferred to the RFA. It is anticipated that RFA will voters pass a new EMS levy in the future, at which time the Fire District will ask its voters to dissolve the entity.

Until then, the existing Fire District 1 commissioners will continue to meet as a board, and to serve on the RFA’s transition board.

  • Richard Shrock

The Commissioners also serve on the board of South Snohomish County Fire & Rescue

Meeting Information

The Fire District 1 Board of Commissioner Regular Meetings are held the first Tuesday of each month at South Snohomish County Fire & Rescue Headquarters, 12425 Meridian Ave. S, Everett WA 98208.
