In areas of unincorporated Snohomish County, fire code is enforced and permits are issued by the Snohomish County government. Inspections are done by the Snohomish County Fire Marshal's office.
In the City of Brier, permits are issued by the city government. Deputy Chief John Westfall oversees fire inspections.
In the City of Edmonds, permits are issued by the city government. Fire District 1 Inspector Kevin Zweber oversees fire inspections.
In the City of Mountlake Terrace, permits are issued by city government. Fire District 1 Deputy Chief John Westfall oversees fire inspections.
Burn permits are not issued in Fire District 1, Brier, Edmonds, Mountlake Terrace or Woodway -- outdoor burning, with the exception of recreational fires, is prohibited by in both cities and all unincorporated areas served by Fire District 1 in accordance with state law.
